Protecting Habitats
We're committed to protecting and enhancing Tenterden’s natural habitats, which are vital in supporting our local wildlife.
We’re working to reverse habitat loss and boost biodiversity across public and private gardens, nature reserves, Tenterden Golf Course, and alongside the Kent & East Sussex Railway, local councils, landowners, and residents.
Current projects include:
Tree planting and woodland expansion
Hedgerow preservation and extension
Pond clearance
Creating interconnecting green corridors
We’re also championing a Chemical-Free Tenterden, collaborating with the Town Council, Kent County Council, and Ashford Borough Council to phase out herbicide use on streets and pavements.
As active members of Kent Wildlife Trust, the Local Nature Recovery Strategy, and the Rother & Romney Catchment Partnership, we’re helping map priority habitats across the region for future conservation.
